 Things are heating/freezing up.....

Our house had about 4 showings since it went on the market. Tonight the Realtor called with an offer. We've now started the counter offer games, etc. We have to figure out how to fit all this into our schedule tomorrow. I have an eye appt. after work and will probably be blind from the eye drops.

My daughter is heading to NYC by train for the weekend. She's had a bad cough for weeks. She went up on a school bus trip last Friday to the Metropolitan Art Museum. Now I find out she and her friends didn't even go to the museum and just ran around in the city all day. Now she's taking the train for the whole weekend and staying at NYU with her best friend whose going to school there. She'll be sick all over again. They're going to the parade.

Tonight my son announced that he's driving to Quebec Canada Saturday and back on Monday. I'm flipping out because he has NEVER driven by himself further than 2 hours! He's going up to see someone he's known "ON LINE" for about a year. He says it's right across the border and only takes NINE hours to get there. I really think it's going to take longer than that. If he didn't screw up at work so much he'd be able to get an extra day off. I'm not giving him the copy of his birth certificate until he gives me a name, address and phone number. I can't possibly figure out how he's going to do this. He works from 11:00pm Friday night until 4AM Saturday. He has to be back by 10:30 Monday night for work??????? I was young once and did do some pretty crazy stuff but times have changed and you never know who people are on line. [EMOTICON:ROFL1]] Couldn't resist that one considering. Anyway, I'm pretty sure it's SNOWING up there as well. We had flurries HERE today. He's 21 and I've really been wanting him to go out more. Why can't he just to Philadelphia with some friends and see a Hockey Game or something? This is WAY MORE than I bargained for. How about go OUT HERE WHERE WE LIVE once in a while!!!

I have a lot to do and a lot to think about tonight.

The winds be a blowin today....

Man is it ever windy here in the Northeast today!!! I'm feeling winter on it's way in. I'm not feeling too into Halloween this year. I've been too busy with work and other things but I posted this picture because I just think it's cute.

Last week I saw "The Secret Life of Bees Movie" with some friends. I read the book a long time ago and it was excellent. The movies well done but I did picture the characters as much different than Queen Latifah, Jennifer Hudson and Alica Keyes. However they were all just great. Isn't it just awful about poor Jennifer Hudson's family? What a tragedy. To think someone could do that and murder a small child goes beyond belief! The poor girl has reached such a wonderful place in life only to have it completely shattered by some moronic deviate. Such a senseless waste of life. I hope he gets the chair.

Went to my first play of the 08-09 season in Hershey: "The Pajama Game". I didn't find it all that great a story. Couldn't remember the Doris Day movie either but I'm sure I saw it at some point. I suppose the energy in some plays has a lot to do with the experience and direction of the actors. In any event it was a nice outing. I've got really good seats this year too.

Our house was listed this week and has had only two showings. One has made an offer. We don't know what it is yet as we're waiting for the papers to be drawn up. I haven't been very happy about the asking price. I mean I know there are numerous variables. I do trust our agent (and I'm also well aware they want to make a sale). If we overprice, it will sit on the market, homes in neighborhood related value, driving distance, time of year, proximity to Three Mile Island, no AC, BLAH BLAH BLAH. However, when I call up a listing of homes in my area with comparative land, bedrooms, baths, etc. etc. I get homes with substantially more of an asking price. I'm supposed to remember the new "economic climate" blah blah blah. Oh well, I guess we all feel our "home" is worth more than someone else thinks it is. I'll keep you posted on the saga. I know I do not want to hang on to it and have to be going over mowing and soon shoveling. Not to mention the drain of having two mortgages.

I found out my 54 year old sister has diabetes. She's been way overweight for the past 20 years. I couldn't believe she didn't have it before. She finally admitted to me she does. I'm not allowed to tell my mother so she won't worry. She has so many health problems and loosing weight would make her feel so much better. Easier said than done. I will try to talk to her again about it.

I know I have much catching up to do on everyone's blogs. I'm back to sneaking time during work "OH MY".

 I'm baaaaaaackkkkkkk........ha ha ha

Yes folks, I am back from a great vacation cruise Norfolk VA to the Bahamas (Nassau, Freeport). We went to "Cabbage Beach" in Naussau the first day. It was beautiful. If I can get it loaded I'll put a picture up. Going slow, must be the server issue thing.
Anyway, the same couple who went with us on cruise last year (Carnival to the Panama Canal/Costa Rica/Belize) joined us again. We drove to Norfolk VA and took the ship from there. Saved a lot of money and flying hassles. A good time was had by all, I drank too much, spent too much money, ate too much, stayed up too late and in general had a super time. Here's a pic. from Cabbage Beach which is about two doors down from the famous Atlantis Casino resort.

My kids held down the fort here without too much out of place when we returned. Although I'm noticing my dear doggie Shadow seems to have a hip that's bothering him. I'm suspecting it's arthritis stiffness from not having a walk at all for six days. I highly doubt my son actually walked him (it's possible, but I'm doubting it). The dogs acting kind of weird. Maybe it's just because I went away and it's his anxiety. I would hate to think that something happened to him while in my own kids care.

We finally signed with a Realtor Monday. It was convenient for all but we have some tidying up to do. I went after work and planted mums and put out mulch. Now my back hurts. I bought a power sprayer and was going to start with doing around the front door only to discover it didn't work properly. Now I have to find time to schlep it back to Lowe's tomorrow after work.

I browsed a couple of blogstream posts but I'm out of time for comments today. I like to check in on you guys even if I'm short for time. I hope to catch up with everyone soon.

Have a great day, take care.

 Checks in the mail

Ok everyone, my check is written, the envelope sealed and the stamp is on. As soon as the mail gets here it will be off. I hope our contributions to the Blogstream will help John in getting the new server. Thanks to all you guys who blogged about this so I'd be aware and get off my butt and do something.

We are going on vacation October 5th for the week. We're driving to Norfolk VA and going on a cruise to the Bahamas. I'm almost feeling guilty to be taking a trip. We planned this a year ago with another couple (and we've got it paid for thank goodness). The mindset at the time was no dealing with airlines and a sort of celebration as we anticipated the sale of our house by now. Well, it didn't work out that way. We're going and we're going to have a good time rain or shine. Once we're back we may be settling in for a long cold winter (we moved from a home with electric heat to one with OIL!).

Tuesday night I broke my Toe . It's not the same foot I fractured my ankle on, it's the other one. It's the disturbing long toe next to my big one. Right now I have the two attached with masking tape and cotton balls (ran out of bandaid adhesive). At least I can walk on it. It's always something.

Back to work
Take care everyone. Bohemian

 That's my Daughter

Sometimes I'm amazed at how my daughter can just show up after weeks of emotional detachment from me and just "need" something and completely turn my day upside down. And don't I go and change my life around to accommodate her. She's not around a lot, hard to converse with, includes me in little and I just jump at the chance to be mom for the day. (I read where teenagers go through that distancing period so as to prepare themselves to go out on their own -- Or maybe they're just being punks).

So today I have my day planned. She shows up we have to go do this, do that, get this, get that, etc. Doesn't really matter what it is, the point is "I" went right along with it.

I figure one of these days she'll move out and I won't see her much so I have to get it while I can.

Have a great day.
